Dr. Jon Barrett is a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, and Professor and Chair of Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at McMaster University.
Collecting maternal mortality data can help identify problems before, during and after pregnancy and birth, and help us take actions to prevent maternal death. In this episode, Dr. Barrett reviews issues related to maternal mortality and morbidity, identifies important limitations to the existing data collecting systems, and highlights recent Canadian recommendations.
